Hello everyone, welcome to my blog! My name is Brynn Birtwistle and I am an elementary education graduate from the University of Victoria. I was raised an hour north of Victoria on Quw’utsun territory, in a small town called Shawnigan Lake. With me were my two sisters, mom, dad, step dad, two step siblings, four dogs, and four cats. It was Quw’utsun land where I gained a deep appreciation for nature and Indigenous culture. I am grateful everyday for the Coast Salish people for letting me and my family live, work and play on their lands.

I am currently residing on Songhees and W̱SÁNEĆ territory and am reminded everyday of how lucky I am. Living at home with me is my partner and our dog and cat. Outside of being a university student, I also work as a TTOC in the Victoria School District and as a nanny two evenings a week. I like to go for walks, listen to music, exercise, create art, read, paddle board or kayak, cook/eat, and pretty much do anything with friends or family.

I have created this blog for my classmates and professors to share my learning from two education technology courses at the University of Victoria. These courses are EDCI 335 (Learning Design for Technology-Mediated Environments) and EDCI 338 (Social Media and Personalized Learning). I hope you enjoy!
